Malaysia Floods: Iranian Red Crescent Society Ready To Provide Aid

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 24 (Bernama) -- The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) is ready to deploy search and rescue and medical teams as well as provide any assistance to Malaysia which was hit by floods over the weekend. Its President Dr Pir Hossein Kolivand in his letter to the Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS) Secretary-General Hakim Hamzah on Friday, also conveyed his condolences to the victims and families affected by the disaster. "The IRCS wishes the MRCS all the very best in its endeavours to reduce human suffering," the letter read. The letter was made available to Bernama by Iran's embassy in Malaysia. Torrential rains in Malaysia have caused flooding and landslides in several parts of the country with at least 41 people reported dead so far. -- BERNAMA
