Malaysia Gains Visibility In Ottawa Race Weekend

KUALA LUMPUR, June 8 (Bernama) -- Malaysia gained significant visibility when the High Commission of Malaysia and Malaysian students in Canada collectively took part in the 38th annual Ottawa Race Weekend held on May 26 and 27. Nineteen participants formed the Malaysian team comprising Malaysian High Commissioner to Canada Hayati Ismail and her officers, their family members and Malaysian students from the University of Ottawa and Carleton University. They carried the Malaysian flag before the race as part of an event coordinated by the high commission to raise Asean's profile in Ottawa and Canada, the mission said in a statement Friday. "It's important that we're visible and actively take part in an event which is a big part of Ottawa and Canada," Hayati said.
