Malaysian Creative Artists Head For Bandung Festival

KUALA LUMPUR, April 12 (Bernama) -- World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) Foundation chairman Musa Hitam will lead a delegation of Malaysian creative artists to Bandung, Indonesia for the Fourth Marketplace of Creative Arts scheduled for April 14-15. In a statement Thursday, WIEF said the two-day arts festival would bring together 34 young talents from the Asian region in a variety of art forms ranging from music, film, poetry, visual and performing arts, street dances and others. "It is a platform for young creative artists to showcase their talent, network with fellow artists from other parts of the world and explore business opportunities in the art world," it said. Malaysians who will showcase their creative talents in Bandung include singer/songwriter Amir Jahari, violinist Nisa Addina, filmmaker Syahrul Fithri Musa and the Aswara dance troupe. Themed 'Design Nation: Carving Creative Spaces', the festival is co-organised by the WIEF Foundation and Bandung Creative City Forum. The statement said Musa would be accompanied by WIEF Foundatuion secretary-general Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak. -- BERNAMA
