Malaysian Minister Calls on New Egyptian President as Najib's Special Envoy

PUTRAJAYA, July 7 (Bernama) -- Higher Education Minister Mohamed Khaled Nordin left for Cairo on Saturday to pay a courtesy call on Egypt's new president, Mohammed Morsi. A Foreign Ministry statement said Mohamed Khaled would be making the visit as a special envoy of Prime Minister Najib Razak to convey congratulations on behalf of the Malaysian government on Morsi's election as the fifth president of Egypt. The courtesy call is scheduled to take place on Sunday at the office of the Egyptian president. Mohamed Khaled is accompanied by several senior government officers. -- BERNAMA
