Manufacturing company recalls 15 cartons in Bahrain

Manama, Feb. 24 (BNA): The company manufacturing Mars and Snickers bars has recalled 15 cartons, which were produced in the Dutch factory, over fears of being plastic-tainted. The recalled quantity is being kept at the company's warehouse as a precautionary measure pending a decision either to ship the suspicious stock back to the country of origin or get rid of the products under the supervision of the Health Ministry. In a statement today, the Ministry of Health dispelled all fears, declaring Bahrain's markets free of the plastic-tainted chocolate. Public Health director Dr. Mariam Al-Hajeri stressed her department's resolve to ensure the safety of all food products for human consumption. Food control inspectors undertook all the preventive measures and contacted the manufacturing company (Mars Gulf) and its dealers in Bahrain to recall any dubious product.
