MCOT celebrates 65th anniversary of establishment

BANGKOK, April 7 (TNA) - MCOT Public Company Limited (MCOT), a most established Thai media firm running Thai News Agency (TNA), MCOT HDTVs and MCOT Modern Radio Networks, celebrates the 65th anniversary of its establishment on Friday. MCOT executives, including the company's Board Chair General Chatchalerm Chalermsukh and new President, Khemmathat Pholladet, joined employees on Friday morning in offering alms to nine Buddhist monks and paying respects to the company's holy Buddha image, built since MCOT was run in the name of TV Channel 4 Bang Khun Prom. Honorable guests, representatives from allied state and private agencies and entertainment figures also visited the MCOT headquarters on Rama IX Road to congratulate on this auspicious occasion. This year, the company asks well-wishers not to offer flower bouquets or flower baskets but they are invited to donate to the Utokapat Foundation under the royal patronage of His Majesty the King at the MCOT headquarters or transfer the money to an account number 013-022419-7 of state-run Krung Thai Bank. MCOT, a former state enterprise, was first changed to TV Channel 9 and was later listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) in 2004. (TNA)
