MCOT to co-host Asian Side of the Doc Bangkok 2016 event
BANGKOK, Sept 23 (TNA) -- MCOT Public Company Limited (MCOT) is set to co-host the Asian Side of the Doc 2016 in Thailand.
Representative of the officials organisers of the 7th Asian Side of the Doc or ASD2016, Mr Stephan Lambert, together with the event's main alliances including MCOT and Panorama Worldwide Co Ltd announced their readiness to hold the forthcoming ASD2016, the first of such event in Thailand.
Mr Stephan pointed out that the organisers have foreseen Thailand's potential for sector, as the country has attracted various documentary producers to create quality documentaries.
He said this makes Thailand the most suitable location as a hub for a complete marketing of documentaries in Asian region.
The organising of the ASD2016 would provide the opportunity for Thai documentary producers to exchange their views points and ideas with world class producers and become more internationalised.
Mr Stephan said more than 100 participants have accepted the invitation to join the event, where the organisers have expressed the setting up of the event is over 90 completed.
MCOT Vice President Suthorn Areerak, meanwhile, said the cooperation would be a stepping stone for Thai documentary producers to develop new ideas, as most Thai documentaries still lack an interesting narration.
Activities at the ASD2016 include a One-on-One Meeting, in depth debates, operational seminars, the presentation of the winner's project, as well as ways to create more networking for social responsibility activities to increase marketing benefits and build opportunities for Thai producers to work with international movie makers.
The goal of the event is to help Thailand increase its capability to compete with the rest of the world by by becoming a creative industry, a strategy under the government's Thailand 4.0 policy.
The ASD2016 is scheduled to be held between October 31 through November 3, 2016 at the Avani Riverside Bangkok Hotel. (TNA)
