Melaka, Gwangju Forge Coperation In Green Technology

MELAKA (Malaysia), May 4 (Bernama) -- Melaka and Gwangju of South Korea are forging cooperation towards achieving green technology city status by 2020. Melaka Chief Minister Mohd Ali Rustam said the cooperation covered sharing experience and green technology policies in application now by Gwangju authorities in the city's administration. "We are confident the joint effort would open up an easier path and launch the state government's effort towards achieving the status," he said in a statement here Thursday. Earlier, Mohd Ali witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Melaka and Gwangju to improve bilateral cooperation in environmental protection. Melaka was represented by its mayor Zainal Abu while Gwangju was represented by its Ecology and Environment Bureau director-general, Shin Kwang Jo. -- BERNAMA
