Minister commends BCDR-AAA role

Manama, Nov. 20 (BNA): Finance Minister Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa has praised the positive contribution of the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA) in promoting alternative dispute resolution in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The minister congratulated the chamber on issuing new rules which bring its arbitration services in line with international best practice. The rules came into force on October 1. The minister’s comments came while receiving a BCDR-AAA delegation, including the chamber’s CEO, Nassib Ziade, and the Executive Director for Operations, Ahmed Hussain, as well as Antonio Parra and Adrian Winstanley, commercial disputes resolution experts who took part in drafting the revised rules. The Minister also expressed his hope that the BCDR-AAA will continue to play a crucial role in promoting Bahrain as a regional centre for alternative dispute resolution, thus enhancing the competitiveness and credibility of the national economy. The BCDR-AAA was established by Law Decree 30/2009, as amended by Law Decree 64/014. It operates in partnership with the American Arbitration Association (AAA), providing solutions for rapid and effective resolution of economic, financial and investment disputes.
