Minister Denies Organs Of Killed Indonesian Criminals Sold

KUALA LUMPUR, April 27 (Bernama) -- Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein Thursday refuted the claim by certain quarters that the organs of three killed Indonesian criminals had been sold after the post-mortems done. Hishammuddin said police, however, were investigating the claim and he was made to understand that a delegation from Indonesia had met with Inspector-General of Police Ismail Omar on the matter. "So, let the police handle the matter and we hope the delegation will then explain the truth," he told reporters, here, Thursday. The three Indonesian criminals who were armed with parangs, were shot dead while trying to break into a house in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan on March 24. It was said that police were forced to open fire when the three men tried to attack them when they realised the presence of police at the crime scene. Police found three long parangs, a screwdriver, fence cutter, gloves and face masks belonging to the criminals at the scene. Meanwhile in JAKARTA, Indonesian Manpower ad Transmigration Minister Muhaimin Iskandar called for a thorough investigation into death of the three Indonesian nationals. He was quoted in a news report on the ministry's website as saying that he had received information from the Indonesian Foreign Ministry that the Malaysian police were prepared to further investigate the case. Reyna Usman, director-general of the Labour Placement Development Division under the Manpower and Transmigration Ministry said the ministry was coordinating with the East Lombok Manpower Department to expedite the solving of the case. -- BERNAMA
