Minister receives Chinese official

Manama, June 3 (BNA): Foreign Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa received today the Ambassador for Arab-Chinese States Cooperation Forum Affairs of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Li Chengwen, and his accompanying delegation currently on an official visit to the Kingdom. The minister praised the close historic relations between Bahrain and China and the progress achieved at all levels. He also affirmed Bahrain's keenness to further enhance these relations for the benefit of both countries and people. Shaikh Khalid highlighted the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to contribute to the success of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum which will be held in Beijing in July. He also noted the positive role played by the People's Republic of China in developing frameworks of cooperation and joint coordination with Arab countries for the benefit of both sides. For his part, Li Chengwen affirmed his country's pride for its strong friendly relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain and its continuous aspiration to continue the development of these relations at various level. He also wished Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
