Minister receives French company officials

Manama, July 3 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza received a delegation from French company MAREAL, headed by its head of infrastructure Henry Dupouy. President of G & G Partners, a company which specialises in civil engineering and contributes to renewable energy projects, was also present. The minister praised the company's activities in various fields, in particular in renewable energy, and its achievements. The visitors reviewed their future plans and their desire to invest in the field of wind energy production, as well as the establishment of a cooperation relationship with the Sustainable Energy Unit. The minister said they welcomed cooperation with companies and specialised institutions, for whom investment opportunities were now available, especially after the launch of Bahrain’s first wind atlas has shown that the percentage of wind is sufficient to operate turbines that generate clean energy and produce electricity. The visitors thanked the minister and officials for the welcome and the hospitality and the prospect of cooperation with companies working in the field of renewable energy. The meeting was attended by Acting Executive Director of the Sustainable Energy Unit Alexander Al-Samahiji.
