Minister receives Japanese delegation

Manama, Feb. 26 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza received Japan Bank for International Co-operation (JBIC) Middle East Regional Director Naoki Tamaki a number of senior officials. The minister praised the friendly relations the two countries, especially after the visit of His Majesty King Hamad to Japan several years ago. The minister commended the JBIC's activities and programmes in promoting sustainable development in developed and developing countries by its financing of various projects. The minister reviewed with them the latest projects in the electricity, water and renewable energy sectors, the available investment opportunities and in the possibility of financing major renewable energy projects in Bahrain. Mr. Tamaki and the accompanying delegation thanked the minister for the welcome and the hospitality. Adviser to the minister Dr. Ahmed Hashem was present.
