Minister receives UAE ambassador

Manama, May 6 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister, Dr. Abdulhussain bin Ali Mirza, received here the newly-appointed UAE Ambassador to Bahrain, Shaikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al-Nahyen. The minister lauded the distinguished solid relations between the two brotherly countries in various fields, especially electricity and water, wishing the ambassador every success in carrying out his diplomatic duties. They reviewed the main projects being implemented in the fields of electricity, water and renewable energy. The minister gave a presentation about the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA)’s projects, the Sustainable Energy Unit, the national plan to raise the power efficiency, the national renewable energy plan, as well as other key projects, such as the 100 MW solar power station. He highlighted the available investment opportunities for the UAE companies in the energy projects in the kingdom. The UAE ambassador expressed delight in Bahrain’s energy strides, and highlighted the UAE companies to participate in Bahrain’s energy projects.
