Ministry of Education Holds Expanded Meeting with Nurseries' License Holders, Managers

Doha, October 05 (QNA) - The Ministry of Education and Higher Education, represented by the Private Education Affairs Sector, held the 2nd periodic meeting of private nurseries' license owners and managers. The meeting reviewed the results of the study carried out by the Private Education Affairs Sector, and the relevant measures to address the challenges faced by the owners of licenses and managers of nurseries, before transferring its competence to the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and how to overcome difficulties, in addition to addressing many concerns related to the work of nurseries, including the views and proposals of their principals, in order to improve the work and enhance its outputs. In his speech, Assistant Undersecretary for Private Education Affairs Omar Al Naama praised the role of license holders and managers of private nurseries in preserving children and enhancing their security and safety, especially since it is considered their second home, highlighting the diversity of nurseries, their practices and activities, which meets the wishes and choices of all parents, especially the diversity of languages, cultures and study environments. Dr. Rania Mohammed, an educational expert at the Office of the Assistant Undersecretary for Private Education Affairs, in charge of conducting the work and follow-up of private nurseries, reviewed the results of the study of work challenges and obstacles for license holders and managers of private nurseries, which included interviewing 58 license holders and 122 managers, and conducting quantitative and qualitative opinion polls, in which 107 managers and 121 license holders participated, and the response rate reached 92 percent of those surveyed. She also addressed a number of challenges and proposals included in the results of the study related to the work of nurseries before transferring their competencies to the ministry, and stressed that the percentage of overcoming difficulties and facing challenges in accordance with the measures taken at the ministry amounted to 55 percent of the total challenges worked on in a period of five months, while the ministry's response rate to the proposals of license holders reached 39 percent, adding that the percentage of challenges and proposals currently being worked on is 38 percent out of 21 challenges and 18 proposals.
