Ministry: Georgia and Romania will restore ferry service

Georgia, Tbilisi, Oct. 25 / Trend N. Kirtzkhalia / Georgia and Romania will restore the ferry service between the two countries. The Georgian Ministry of Economy said today that Georgian Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Mikeladze and Romanian Secretary of State of Transport Marian Buica signed a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of bilateral cooperation in the transport sector. According to the report, the memorandum will allow restoring the ferry service between the Georgian and Romanian ports in the near future and facilitate the development of the transport potential of the country and creation of new jobs. This will increase the cargo turnover of the Georgian ports. A delegation from the Romanian Ministry of Transport has been in Georgia from October 23. During the visit, representatives of the Romanian delegation visited the ports of Batumi and Poti and held working meetings on the restoration of the ferry service between the Romanian port of Constanta and Georgian Batumi and Poti.
