Ministry of Social Development lauches project to search for football top talents
BANGKOK, Feb 2 (TNA) -- Ministry of Social Development and Human Security launched the project called "a diamond of the first water", to help create professional footballers among youths in foster care.
Minister of Social Development and Human Security Pol Gen Adul Sangsingkeo presided over the official opening of the ceremony yesterday morning, at the meeting hall of Rajvithi Home.
The minister said the project comes in the form of One Talent One Model, where the target group of 6,045 youths at the ages between 0-18 years old residing in over 30 foster homes across the country, one of the strategy to help develop children and youths by giving them support to create potential and talents according to their abilities, in a bid to help prepare them for the real world and give them strength to return to their families.
The One Talent One Model comprises of eight models for youths development, which this one is designed to bring out football talents, providing them with support to help them turn pro.
A total of 250 youths have passed the selection process, dividing into 12 teams from 14 foster homes.
The teams would compete on February 1-4 where only four teams would be qualified for the final round.
Thirty promising talents would selected from the four teams to participate in the DCY Football Academy camp, where they would receive professional training from football experts and trainers.
Only 10 out of the selected 30 would be chosen to represent the country in an international football match for foster children in Poland on July 15-15. (TNA)
