Mitra Seni Indonesia Delegation To Visit Malaysia Under Cultural Bridging Programme

By Ahmad Fuad Yahya JAKARTA, April 21 (Bernama) -- A 100-member delegation from Mitra Seni Indonesia will visit Malaysia for three days starting on Apr 25 under the Malaysia-Indonesia cultural bridging programme. The visit, which is jointly organised by the Malaysian Embassy Women's Association (Jakarta Delegation), Tourism Malaysia, Information, Communications and Culture Ministry of Malaysia and Mitra Seni Indonesia, is aimed at fostering stronger ties between the people of both countries. Jakarta Delegation president Sharifah Ikhlas AlJeffree said the programme was implemented following the Malaysian Information, Communications and Culture Minister Dr Rais Yatim's visit here last February. "It is my hope that this social event and the presence of honorable guests from Malaysia and Indonesia, as well as musicians, singers and fashion designers, will further enhance the special bond between the people of both countries. "I do hope that this programme will be made an annual event," she told reporters here on Friday. Among the activities lined up for the delegates are cultural performances, fashion show, handicrafts exhibition and sales, as well as a visit to the Islamic Arts Museum and Putrajaya. -- BERNAMA
