Model drivers honoured

Manama, Mar. 15 (BNA): A ceremony was held this evening at the Officers' Club to honour model drivers. Interior Ministry Undersecretary Major-General Khalid Salim Al-Absi attended the event, which was held as part of the 32nd Gulf Traffic Week, being marked under the theme "Your Decision Determines Your Fate". Heads of the GCC delegations were also present. Al-Absi stressed the keenness of Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa on intensifying awareness-enhancing programmmes and campaigns and promoting traffic culture. He underlined the dedicated efforts of the General Directorate of Traffic to achieve community partnership with the public and different institutions. He stressed the importance of the Gulf Traffic Week in consolidating traffic culture, reducing fatal accidents and exchanging expertise between members countries. General Traffic director-general Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al-Khalifa commended Bahraini drivers for their commitment to the law.
