MoFA, IAEA co-organize workshop

Manama, Aug. 3 (BNA): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA)'s Undersecretary and Chairman of the National Committee for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, Ambassador Abdullah Abdullatif Abdullah, has opened a workshop co-organized by the National Committee for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on August 2 – 3. The Undersecretary commended the Agency's cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain, and touched on the areas of cooperation between the concerned authorities in the Kingdom and the International Atomic Energy Agency, whether be it in legal, environmental, health or educational fields. The workshop aims to highlighting the programmes of IAEA under the framework of technical cooperation in the fields of atomic energy use for peaceful purposes. The workshop will also set a draft five-year plan for the future needs of the Kingdom in this regard, where most of the stakeholders in the Kingdom concerned with Atomic energy participate in this workshop.
