MOFA signs memo with Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission

Manama, Aug. 27 (BNA): In line with the vision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in stressing the need to strengthen joint cooperation among all state institutions under the reform approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and in a way that benefits both the institutions and their employees, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed today morning between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission, at the Ministry’s General Court. The Memorandum was signed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa, and the President of the Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission, Chancellor Nawaf Abdulla Abdulaziz Hamza. On this occasion, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed her pride and appreciation of signing this Memorandum of Understanding which embodies the cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission and thus contributes to the development of the legal skills of the national cadres working for both sides.  The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has praised the important role played by the Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission in legal advisory opinions, preparing and drafting of legislation, preparing legal cadres and contributing to legal capacity building. The Undersecretary further noted that this Memorandum of Understanding aims to enhance the scientific and legal cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission in order to improve the legal performance through the exchange of experiences, legal publications and scientific courses in legal fields, and organizing lectures, training courses and joint legal conferences through the active participation of both sides, welcoming further cooperation and coordination in various fields for the benefit of both sides. Furthermore, the Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission is considered one of the most important institutions involved in the reform approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and it has become a model to be followed by the relevant legislation and legal opinion bodies at the regional and international levels.
