More trains available during royal cremation ceremony
BANGKOK, Oct 11 (TNA) – The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) plans to increase train trips for mourners, who will travelling from provinces to attend the royal cremation ceremony of HM late King Bhumibol Adulyadej in Bangkok on Oct 26.
Acting Governor of the State Railway of Thailand, Anond Luangboriboon said that the SRT will offer free rides and increase train trips to during Oct 23-31.
On the night of Oct 26, after the royal cremation ceremony ends, six extra trains will be available for passengers to return home in Bangkok’s surrounding provinces, including Ayutthaya, Nakhon Pathom and Chachoengsao. More carriages will be added to each train to carry up to 1,000-1,500 passengers.
On Oct 29-30, additional eight trains will run from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, Ubon Ratchathani, Nong Khai and Hat Yai for stranded passengers to return home. (TNA)
