Myanmar, Philippine leaders pay respects to late Thai King
BANGKOK, November 10 (TNA) - Myanmar President Htin Kyaw and Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte have paid their respects to late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej at the Grand Palace in Bangkok.
The Myanmar president first paid his respect to the late and revered Thai King and laid a wreath at the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall in the morning of November 9, when he also signed his name in the book of condolences and conveyed his gratitude to late His Majesty the King’s efforts and contributions to foster good relations with other countries during his 70 years on the throne.
Later in the day, the Philippine president arrived in Bangkok at 1pm and went to pay respect to the late and beloved Thai monarch and laid a wreath at the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall inside the Grand Palace.
On the occasion, the Philippine president was welcomed by Thai Minister Attached to the Prime Minister's Office ML Panadda Diskul as a representative of the Thai government.
The Philippine president expresses his condolences for the passing of the late and beloved Thai King, saying that the Philippines and Thailand have had longstanding relations and shared the history of honour with the late Thai King’s dedication to foster goodwill and friendship between the two nations.
The Philippine president also expressed his appreciation to the late and revered Thai King for his role model for the Filipino people and the world. (TNA)
