Najib Goes On A Walkabout At Batu Pahat Market

BATU PAHAT (Johor, Malaysia), April 7 (Bernama) -– The atmosphere at Ibrahim Street here was filled with excitement when Prime Minister Najib Razak came to visit the place on Saturday. Arriving at about 9.15am, Najib had a simple breakfast of "kopi o", nasi lemak and "roti bakar" at Chop Tong Ah coffee shop. He was accompanied by among others MCA president Chua Soi Lek, Johor Chief Minister, Abdul Ghani Othman, Batu Pahat Member of Parliament Dr Puad Zakarshi, Parit Sulong Member of Parliament Noraini Ahmad and Minister of Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Ismail Sabri Yaakob. Members of the public who turned up at the market literally pushed one another to shake hands, taking photographs with their handphones or just to take a glimpse of Najib. Those who were unable to do so were apparently satisfied with just taking photographs beside the car used by the prime minister. After having breakfast, Najib and his entourage went for a walkabout at the market to greet traders and members of the public. He also visited several shops in the vicinity. After spending 45 minutes visiting the area, Najib left for the national-level programme called "Promises Are Kept Tour" at Batu Pahat Stadium. -- BERNAMA
