National Ambulance Centre projet discussed

Manama, Feb.24 (BNA): A committee in charge of the National Ambulance Centre held a key meeting to discuss the progress of the scheme. His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa had issued a royal decree on the establishment and organizational structure of the National Ambulance Centre, which will be affiliated with the Minister of Interior. Chaired by Public Security Chief Major-General Tariq bin Hassan Al-Hassan, the panel paid tribute to HM the King for issuing the royal decree setting up the national service. It stressed the importance of the scheme in meeting the needs of citizens and residents and keeping pace with the modernization of other sectors, which represents the cornerstone of the reform process. The committee was updated on the latest equipment, prior to establishing the national centre which will monitor ambulance service and rapid response to emergency cases involving patients and wounded people before their admission to public hospitals. Maj. Gen. Al-Hassan hailed the directives of the Interior Minister regarding the establishment of the centre, taking into account international standards and advanced practices. He announced that the ministry would start soon implementing the project, stressing the importance of finalizing the necessary legislations and regulatory measures as well as equipment and facilities. The committee decided to discuss the final proposals with other competent parties, including the Supreme Council for Health (SCH) and hospitals to scrutinize issues relating to local agreements and international conventions.
