National Business Agenda project discussed

Manama, May 12 (BNA): Labour and Social Development Minister, Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, received here the Deputy Director of the U.S Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), Abdulwahab Al-Kebsi, in the presence of the Chairman of the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) Society and Deputy Chairman of the National Business Agenda (NBA), Dr. Abdulhasan Al Dairi, and Asssistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Ali Al-Ansari. The meeting discussed the latest developments regarding the SME NBA Steering Committee. The NBA was launched in January under the patronage of the Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister, in cooperation between SMEs Society and CIPE. The project aims to study and determine the priorities for the six main sectors in the Bahraini economy, including salons, contracting companies, transportation, IT, industry, and real estate development. After that, the six sectors will present their findings and proposed solutions to the government in order to address the challenges they are facing. The minister asserted the Laour and Social Development Ministry’s support for such a vital project aiming to revitalise the economy, and attract Bahraini youth competencies. Al-Kebsi pointed out that Bahrain boasts qualified human resources who are committed to work ethics, highlighting the government’s constant support for Bahraini youth to join entrepreneurship and start their own enterprises within a business-friendly environment. Dr. Al-Dairi expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to the Labour and Social Development Ministry for its interest in the project, which, he said, reflects the government’s keenness to support projects aimed at boosting the national economy.
