National Day/ Ambassador of Senegal to QNA: Celebrating National Day Embodies Meanings of Pride in Homeland and its Continued Achievements

Doha, December 09 (QNA) - HE Ambassador of the Republic of Senegal to the State of Qatar Dr. Mouhamed Habibou Diallo said that the State of Qatar's celebration of its National Day this year in conjunction with hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is combining two celebrations: one is global represented by a historic opportunity for civilizational meeting in sports and cultural activities and the other is national that involves continuing the path of Qatari leadership as an independent and sovereign country at the forefront of international forums and a beacon for the developed people who are aware of the national affiliation towards building and advancing the homeland on the anniversary of the Founder of the State of Qatar Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani assuming power in 1878. In a special statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), His Excellency stressed that all this national, sports, cultural, civilizational and humanitarian momentum, in addition to hosting many different international events, will have a great impact, and highlight Qatar's positive and influential role in all these fields, especially in terms of its efforts to establish international peace and security, and to consolidate the values of reconciliation, tolerance, and openness towards the other, for which the hospitable Qatari people were known. His Excellency continued by saying that the slogan of celebrating the National Day, which is 'Our Unity Is The Source Of Our Strength', confirms the wisdom of the wise leadership and its insightful strategic vision, which is clearly evident in the unity of the Qatari people, their cohesion and their rallying around their leadership, represented by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. His Excellency praised the close relations between the two countries since 1975 in various fields, pointing out that they are witnessing a remarkable development, which is reflected in the mutual coordination between the two sides in regional and international forums on issues of common concern, in a way that serves their common interests. His Excellency cited, in a related context, the numerous agreements signed by the two countries in various fields, and the mutual visits between the leaderships of the two countries and officials in Doha and Dakar, the latest of which was the visit of President of the Republic of Senegal Macky Sall to Doha, to attend the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. His Excellency noted that what unites Qatar and Senegal is the understanding and convergence of views on various issues, as well as the compatibility of visions and strategic plans. In this regard, His Excellency referred to Qatar National Vision 2030 and Senegal National Vision 2035. In his statement, HE the Ambassador of the Republic of Senegal praised the efforts of the State of Qatar in the development fields, saying that Qatar has taken accelerated steps at all levels towards development and modernization, to match, in a record period, the developed countries, thanks to its wise leadership and strong will, which prompted various countries and international institutions to search for partnerships.
