National Day/ Austrian Ambassador to (QNA): Qatar Depends on Its Citizens' Solidarity and Cohesion for Success

Doha, December 12 (QNA) - HE the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Qatar Karin Fichtinger Grohe expressed her sincere congratulations to the State of Qatar and its citizens on the occasion of the National Day, stressing that the State of Qatar relies on the unity of its citizens in its pursuit of success and prosperity. In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of the country's National Day, Her Excellency said that the State of Qatar relies on the strength of the solidarity and cohesion of its citizens, as well as its residents, in addition to the principle of unity in diversity, to reach peace and promote economic and cultural prosperity. HE the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Qatar commended the Qatar National Vision 2030 for laying the foundations of a sustainable success for the State of Qatar, pointing to the large investment focused on education, culture and research, in addition to Qatar’s economic achievements and natural gas production, stressing that Qatar has become a modern state within the span of 52 years. Her Excellency also praised the reforms implemented by the State of Qatar in various fields, including workers' rights, highlighting in this context its adoption of a law providing for a minimum wage. On the other hand, Her Excellency talked about the uniqueness of celebrating the National Day this year, as it coincides with the hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, noting the State of Qatar's endeavor to bring together the world of football to one place through this tournament, especially since sport is a unique and important link that binds people together within and across communities, letting them put their differences aside. Regarding Qatari-Austrian relations, HE the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria expressed her pride in the level of good relations between the two countries, considering that this will be reflected positively on the practical level in the coming period. In a related context, Her Excellency highlighted the visit of three Austrian official delegations to the State of Qatar in the past 12 months, noting HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani’s reception of HE the Federal Chancellor of the Republic of Austria Karl Nehammer, last March.
