National Day/ Belarus Charge d'Affaires: Celebrating QND in Conjunction with World Cup Finals Carries Symbolic Significance

Doha, December 17 (QNA) - Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus to the State of Qatar Aleksei Malafei affirmed that the Qatar National Day (QND) is an event for every Qatari and is a matter of pride for a citizen of any country in light of the great achievements made by Qatar during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, including amazing and unprecedented preparations, pointing out that the QND celebration and the World Cup finals carries a very symbolic and important significance. Malafei said in exclusive statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that "the Republic of Belarus highly appreciates Qatar's efforts to prepare for the World Cup. The whole country has worked shoulder to shoulder for many years on the creation of appropriate infrastructure and the construction of the stadiums," criticizing the unfair accusations leveled by some foreign politicians and activists to question Qatar's achievements and its ability to host this global event. He expressed his pride in the achievements of the State of Qatar during the past period under the wise leadership represented by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, praising the scale of architectural solutions, compliance with the laws, regulations, and instructions within the Qatari territory. Malafei concluded his statement to QNA by affirming that the bilateral diplomatic relations are friendly within the framework of mutual visits and constructive and joint cooperation between the two parties, noting that the Embassy of Belarus in Qatar works to the fullest extent possible to develop and expand relations through political, commercial, economic, and cultural aspects, especially since Qatar is an independent sovereign state and has influence all over the world, not just in the Arab region.
