National Day/ Poets Say Participation in Darb Al Saai Events Comes from Patriotic Standpoint

Doha, December 05 (QNA) - Qatar Poetry Center "Diwan Al Arab" held Saturday a poetry evening in Darb Al Saai within the program of cultural seminars accompanying the activities and celebrations of the Qatar National Day, which falls on December 18 of each year and is held this year under the slogan "Our Unity Source of Our Strength." The poets Ayed Al Hababi, Mohammed Nasser Al Shahwani, and Ziyad Al Otaibi, participated in the poetry evening, which was moderated by journalist Atta Mohammed, with various poems on the love of the homeland. In remarks, the poets affirmed that their participation in the poetry evening came from a patriotic standpoint, loyalty to the homeland, and an expression of their love and giving to it, especially in light of this national atmosphere, which coincides with the hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The Qatar Poetry Center announced the organization of six poetry evenings as part of the activities of Darb Al Saai and a symposium on poetry and its roles in society with the participation of senior poets. The activities of Darb Al Saai to celebrate the Qatar National Day will continue until December 18 at its permanent headquarters in Umm Salal Mohammed. (QNA)
