National Day/ RACA General Manager to QNA: QND Extends Long history, 2022 Celebration will be Special

Doha, December 12 (QNA) - General Manager of the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA) Ibrahim Abdullah Al Dehaimi affirmed that the Qatar National Day (QND), which falls on Dec. 18 every year, represents an extension of an ancient history led by the sincerity and wisdom of the founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani, indicating that its celebration this year will be distinguished given its held during the country's hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Al Dehaimi said in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the QND that is an opportunity to celebrate the great achievements that have been made, affirming that they will continue to follow the approach of ancestors by preserving heritage and authentic values while remaining open to modern and diverse cultures. He added that the dream of Qatar hosting the World Cup became a reality thanks to God Almighty, and then the men who believed in the achievement, as they worked diligently to win the honor of organizing and proved their merit in hosting this huge global event through the construction several innovative facilities, reflecting the civilized image of the State of Qatar. The General Manager of RACA affirmed in this context that the tournament gained even more prominence given it was the first to be held in the Middle East and the Arab world, pointing out that the challenge showcased Qatar and the entire Arab region. On the importance of organizing the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, he highlighted that Qatar embodies the meaning of supporting, with 170,000 seats set to be donated to developing countries for the benefit of sports projects around the world following the conclusion of the tournament, which will help improve sports infrastructure in those countries. In this context, he said that RACA supports strives to work on charitable projects to support and protect Qatar's heritage, adding that charitable work is part of the Qatari heritage, religion and culture, evidenced by the Qatari charitable sector taking the lead regionally and internationally on many humanitarian issues. Al Dehaimi underlined that this Qatari distinction in the field of charitable work would not have been of this quality had it not been for the existence of a solid foundation in terms of legislation and laws, whether from government agencies or institutions related to humanitarian and charitable work. The General Manager of RACA said that, since its inception, the authority has taken tangible steps to modernize and develop the work of the authority and the charitable sector, pointing out that the period from 2018 to 2022 witnessed a quantum leap in work and organization mechanisms, under the shadow of a package of legislation, laws and decisions that contributed to the development of work mechanisms in the charitable sector in general, particularly in the authority.
