National Disaster Management Committee convenes

Manama, May 13 (BNA): Chief Executive of the Supreme Council for Environment, Dr. Mohamed Mubarak bin Dainah, chaired a meeting National Disaster Management Committee on updating the national emergency plan to combat oil pollution and other harmful substances. Bin Dainah lauded efforts of the national committee members, including representatives from the National Committee for Disaster Management, Coast Guard, Port Affairs and Maritime Affairs, National Oil and Gas Authority and Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco), to respond to oil spill accidents. He attached great significance to updating emergency plans and introducing new precautionary measures to combat oil spills accidents.
