National ICT achievements highlighted

Manama, Sep. 24 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today at Al-Safriyah Palace received Teresa Carlson, Vice President of Worldwide Public Sector at Amazon Web Services, also Head of strategy, operations, sales and business development at Amazon, on the sidelines of her participation in Technology Week activities. HM the king praised the existing cooperation with Amazon, stressing Bahrain’s interest in developing the role of this vital sector. HM the King pointed out the solid ICT infrastructure available in Bahrain, as well as the qualified human resources, noting Bahrain’s ICT achievements at the local, regional and international level. He attached great importance to Bahrain’s strategic geographic location preferable to the world's leading companies in the same sector. Teresa Carlson reviewed Amazon’s global programmes and activities, stressing interest in widening aspects of cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain in the ICT sector. She also lauded the investment advantages and incentives offered by Bahrain, as well as the attractive environment for foreign investment companies.
