National press strides hailed

Manama, May 2 (BNA): A tribute was paid to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa for his support to the national press. Bahrain News Agency (BNA) acting director-general Ahmed Mohammed Al-Mannai hailed HRH the Premier’s patronage, commending the crucial role played by the fourth estate in defending national achievements and highlighting landmark achievements, under the reform project, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa. He made the statement on the sidelines of the ceremony which was held this morning, under HRH the Premier’s auspices, to distribute the Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa Press Award. The prize-distribution ceremony, which coincides with the Bahrain Press Day, was attended by senior officials, members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Bahrain, representatives of the Saudi press and other media figures and invitees. He paid tribute to HM the King, HRH the Premier and HRH the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, hailing their decades-long support to the national press under the reform project. He hailed the crucial role of the press in preserving national gains, revealing remarkable achievements and keeping abreast of sustainable development programmes, hailing HM the King’s far-sighted vision. He extended congratulations, marking Bahrain Press Day, to HM the King, HRH the Premier, and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier and all the media and press community. He commended the dedicated-efforts exerted by the Minister of Information Affairs Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi, stressing his strategy to develop the press and media in Bahrain towards serving vital national goals.
