Natural gas flow from Azerbaijan to Turkey stops
ANKARA (A.A) - Natural gas flow from Azerbaijan to Turkey stopped on Tuesday due to a technical failure.
Also, flow of Iranian natural gas reduced due to a technical failure.
Sources told AA that Azerbaijani and Iranian compressor stations, which transported natural gas to Turkey, had a technical failure. Thus, natural gas flow from Azerbaijan stopped, while it reduced from Iran.
Officials of Turkish Energy & Natural Resources Ministry said that they began to use supplementary fuel (diesel oil and fuel oil) in thermal power plants which produced electricity from natural gas.
The officials added that there was not any shortage in the natural gas which was given to residences and industry.
Turkey's daily natural gas consumption is 176 million cubic meters due to cold weather.
