Navy Sends Marine Task Force To Flood Hit Banjarnegara

Surabaya, E Java, Dec 15 (Antara) - The Indonesian Navy has sent a marine task force to help evacuate victims of a major landslide that hit Jemblung, Sampang village, Karangkoba, Banjarnegara District, Central Java District. "The task force led by Lt Col M Bambang Purnama left for the location on Saturday at 10 pm local time, and arrived on Sunday morning," Colonel Suradi Agung Slamet, spokesman of the Navy, said here on Monday. The 122-member task force carries a number of equipment and materials such as eight Hino trucks, two Ford Rangers, an ambulance, eight emergency tens, and a public kitchen. The personnel also include a doctor and 15 paramedics. The major landslide hit Banjarnegara on Friday following heavy rains. A joint search and rescue team has so far found 39 bodies. Some 69 others are still missing.
