Manama, Mar. 29 (BNA): Representatives Council Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al Malla underscored the importance of joint Arab parliamentary work at various parliamentary gatherings to serve the Arab interests. He pointed out the need to represent Bahrain and the legislative branch at those gatherings, being one of the active members in many Arab and international parliamentary unions. He also stressed the importance of projecting Bahrain's achievements in all fields under the reform project of His Majesty the King.

Manama, Mar. 29 (BNA): Representatives Council Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al Malla underscored the importance of joint Arab parliamentary work at various parliamentary gatherings to serve the Arab interests. He pointed out the need to represent Bahrain and the legislative branch at those gatherings, being one of the active members in many Arab and international parliamentary unions. He also stressed the importance of projecting Bahrain's achievements in all fields under the reform project of His Majesty the King.
The Representatives Council Speaker was speaking as he chaired today a coordination meeting held by the parliamentary delegation to discuss participation in the 27th conference of the Arab Parliamentary Union which will be held at the Council of Representatives headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, on April 4 and 5.
A consultative meeting for Speakers of the Arab parliaments will be held during the conference in addition to a general session during which the current Arab situation will be spotlighted. The Representatives Council Speaker will address the conference and highlight the current challenges facing the Arab nation and Bahrain's efforts, in cooperation with other countries in the region, to face those challenges.
Prior to the conference, the executive and legal committees will convene. Other meetings will also be held by the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee, the Women and Child Affairs Committee and the Political and Parliamentary Relations Affairs Committee. Discussions will focus on issues like fighting terrorism, promoting security and stability and women, children and health.
