NIHR Chairman receives German Bundestag member

Manama, Nov. 23 (BNA): National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) Chairman, Ali Ahmed Al-Derazi, today received Member of the German Bundestag for the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), Dr. Nils Schmid, who is currently on a visit to the kingdom to participate in the 17th Manama Dialogue conference. German Ambassador to Bahrain, Kai Boeckmann, was present. Al-Derazi lauded the solid distinguished Bahraini-German relations, and their steady progress at all levels. The meeting covered a number of topics pertaining to the human rights situation in the kingdom. Al-Derazi briefed the German Bundestag member about the NIHR’s role in protecting and promoting human rights in the kingdom. Dr. Schmid affirmed the important role played by the NIHR in protecting and consolidating human rights, wishing Bahrain further progress and prosperity,
