NIHR Deputy President receives Swiss ambassador

Manama, Mar. 25 (BNA): Deputy President of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) Abdullah Al Derazi received Swiss Ambassador to Bahrain Maya Tissafi, on the sidelines of her visit to the kingdom. He lauded strong relations of friendship between both countries, stressing the need to bolster bilateral cooperation regarding the protection of the prisoners and detainees' rights as well as promoting women's rights in light of the memos and agreements signed in May 2016 during His Majesty the King's visit to Switzerland. Al Derazi briefed the delegation about the human rights situation in Bahrain and the role of NIHR in promoting them. The Swiss ambassador hailed NIHR's unrelenting efforts to foster human rights in Bahrain, stressing the need to promote joint cooperation to further bolster them. The meeting was attended by Resources and Services Director Fahad Al Ma'alla.
