NIHR participates in GANHRI, APF meetings

Geneva, Mar. 5 (BNA): The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Vice President Abdullah Al Derazi participated in the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI)’s meeting taking place on March 4-6 on the sidelines of UN Human Rights Council 40th session in Geneva. Al Derazi also participated in the Asia and Pacific Forum (APF) regional network of national institutions in which Bahrain's NIHR is a member. The APF members reviewed the financial and administrative report of the general secretariat as well as the next two-year operational and strategic plan. The members also discussed issues pertaining to human rights in the Asia and the Pacific region. The members elected the Philippines and New Zealand national institutions to represent the AFP at the GANHRI.
