NIHR participates in GANHRI meetings

Geneva, Feb. 22 (BNA): Maria Khoury, President of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) has headed the National Institution's delegation that participated in Asia Pacific Forum (APF) of Human Rights National Institutions (NHRIs) on the sidelines of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI) meeting in Geneva. NIHR delegation also participated in the Arab Human Rights Institutions Network presided by the Algerian National Human Rights Committee in the discussion of the human rights situation in Palestine, especially in Eastern Jerusalem, with the participation of Arab and foreign human rights national institutions. The forum participants affirmed the importance of boosting the respecting of international human rights law and expressed their solidarity with the Palestinian Human Rights Commission to boost its role aimed to consolidate peace and coexistence between the followers of the three heavenly religions in Jerusalem.
