NIHR praises SCW achievements

Manama, Aug 22 (BNA): Marking the 15th anniversary of the Supreme Council of Women (SCW), the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) expressed utmost appreciation of the SCW role, led by HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of HM the King, SCW President, in promoting the Bahraini women in various areas. The NIHR's statement lauded the SCW efforts in dealing with the Bahraini women's issues and empowering them in all fields, which have contributed to boosting their status and to assume leading position in government agencies and private institutions as a key social partner in line with the objectives of the royal reforms. It pointed out the SCW achievements that put the Bahraini women on the track of progress and modernity, as well as providing them with the opportunity to play their role alongside men in the development of the homeland. It stressed bolstering the Bahraini women's status and protecting their rights and privileges gained in various fields in conformity with the Islamic law and prevailing traditions and customs.
