NIHR receives Kuwaiti human rights delegation

Manama, Nov. 5 (BNA): The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) has received a delegation from Kuwait's National Bureau for Human Rights, led by its Chairman, Ambassador Jassim Mubarak Al-Mubaraki, and including several members. The visit is within the framework of cooperation to create joint mechanisms, and enhance the exchange of experiences and expertise. The two sides discussed human rights issues of mutual concern, as well as the required steps to achieve sustainable development goals. NIHR’s Chairperson, Maria Khoury, briefed the Kuwaiti delegation about the NIHR’s goals and terms of reference, highlighting its efforts to support human rights and deal with human rights issues in Bahrain. The meeting also discussed the latest regional developments in the field of human rights, and stressed the importance of enhancing coordination in the fields of training, education on human rights and promoting the human rights culture. Members of the Kuwaiti delegation praised the solid brotherly Bahraini-Kuwaiti ties, stressing the need to activate joint cooperation to achieve common goals.
