NIHR receives UK ambassador

Manama, Sep. 18 (BNA): President of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), Saeed Al-Faihani, has received Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Bahrain, Simon Martin. Al-Faihani praised the advanced level of bilateral ties expressing his appreciation of the ambassador’s role in boosting the cooperation ties. He reviewed with the British ambassador the rights situation and the content of the report following an unannounced visit by the Institution’s delegation to some of the reformatory institutions, stressing the NIHR’s complete impartiality. The ambassador expressed his appreciation of the Institution’s humanitarian efforts, praising its positive steps of opening a special branch to help expatriate and domestic workers and their families in addition to launching a toll-free helpline to serve citizens and residents. The Institution's VP Abdullah Al Drazi and Dr. Khalifa Al Fadhel the Acting Secretary-General were also present during the meeting.
