NIHR's Secretariat-General backed

Manama, June 12 (BNA): The Council of Commissioners at the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) today held its third extraordinary meeting, under the chairmanship of Dr. Abdulaziz Hassan Abul. The meeting focused on the findings of the committee on assessing the performance of the Chairman, the Council of Commissioners and the Secretariat General for the year 2015. The panel chairman Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Jawehery gave a presentation about the committee’s achievements since its launch earlier this year. The panel aimed to identify the positive and negative aspects in the work of the Council of Commissioners and the Secretariat-General, as well as to try to find solutions to the problems facing them. A number of recommendations, aiming to improve performance and the level of services delivered by the NIHR, were also made. In this regard, a number of training sessions were proposed to support the NIHR’s leadership. The Council of Commissioners lauded the role played by the Secretariat-General over the past period, and expressed its full support to it in order to be able to overcome all the obstacles facing its efforts to upgrade human rights work in the kingdom.
