Nine terrorists killed, three others captured in eastern Turkey

BINGOL (A.A) - February 9, 2012 - Nine terrorists were killed and three others were captured in an operation in the eastern province of Bingol on Thursday, governor's office said. A governor's office statement said that security forces, acting on a tip-off, staged an operation against a house in Bingol's Ilicalar neighborhood on Thursday. "In the operation, nine terrorists were killed and three others were captured alive," the statement said. The statement said security forces seized nine AK-47 (kalashnikov) rifles, five hand grenades, one rocket launcher, two M-16 rifle, some C-4 explosives, two radios and organizational documents in the house. Earlier on Thursday, four PKK terrorists were killed in a clash with Turkish security forces in Cukurca town of the southeastern province of Hakkari. One Turkish troop was killed and six others were wounded in the clash erupted after PKK terrorists launched an attack around 2:00 a.m. on a military outpost in Cukurca.
