No Tsunami Threat To Singapore Following Java Earthquake

SINGAPORE, June 5 (Bernama) -- There is no tsunami threat to Singapore although a strong earthquake struck Java, Indonesia on Monday, according to the Regional Earthquake Alert. The alert, released by Singapore's National Environment Agency, stated that a quake with a magnitude of 5.82, with coordinates of epicentre 8.55 South and 105.84 East, with an estimated depth of 64.0km, was reported at 19:18 (Singapore time) South of Java, approximately 288km from Jakarta (1,126km from Singapore). -- BERNAMA
