Nomination date for voluntary work award announced

Manama, July 6 (BNA): The High Organising Committee of the HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa for Voluntary Work has announced that the nomination for the fourth edition of the «Best Bahraini Voluntary Work Project Award» will be open between July 10 and August 15.
The Best Bahraini Voluntary Work Project Award, which is a subsidiary of the Arab edition of the HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa’s Award for Voluntary Work, is organised by the Good Word Society and sponsored by Tamkeen.
Secretary-General of the Best Bahraini Voluntary Work Project Award, Yacoob Bu Hazza, said that the award is among the fruits of the HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa’s Award for Voluntary Work, and aims to promote the values of voluntary work among the members of the Bahraini society.
He highlighted the directives of HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, the award’s patron, to the organising commiittee to encourage Bahraini youth to come up with creative solutions through voluntary works that contribute to facing challenges and crises.
In this regard, Bu Hazza announced that the organising committee has decided to launch a new category related to the corporate responsibility of companies, in addition to the existing three categories targeting individuals, voluntary teams and NGOs.
The new category aims to encourage the private sector to continue playing its role in meeting the needs of society through adopting and supporting effective voluntary work initiatives.
He added that the award’s jury will be announced soon to evaluate the nomitated projects in terms of sustainability, challenges, future plans, sponsorship, the targeted beneficiaries and positive impacts, as well as the use of technology and social media to promote them.
He indicated that the four categories of the Best Bahraini Voluntary Work Project Award, valued at US$ 10,000, will be distributed during a ceremony to be held marking the celebration of the Arab Voluntary Work Day in September, commending the efforts of Tamkeen, the strategic sponsor of the award.
