Nong Nooch Garden in Pattaya welcomes new baby elephant

CHON BURI, THAILAND, January 31 (TNA) - Nong Nooch Pattaya Garden and Resort in Thailand's eastern seaside Chon Buri Province has welcomed a new member, a healthy baby boy elephant named "Plai Ang Pao", as he was born during the Chinese New Year Festival 2017. The garden's director, Kampol Tansajja, invited the abbot of the nearby Samakkhi Banpot Temple to bless the baby elephant on early Tuesday morning. Plai Ang Pao was born to his mother, 19-year-old Phang Taeng Kwa, and father, 36-year-old, Plai Bird, at 3:05am on January 27. Kampol said although the baby elephant is healthy, a team of veterinarians will continue closely monitoring his growth and progress for a certain period of time until he is strong enough to help himself, after which Plai Ang Pao will be introduced to international tourists who can then witness the baby elephant's cuteness by themselves.
