Northern governor calls for raising awareness on Iran-backed cells

Manama, Nov. 5 (BNA): Northern Governor Ali bin Al-Sheikh Abdul Hussain Al-Asfoor has stressed the need to raise social awareness and cement national unity in order to confront the danger posed by armed cells which are backed by foreign sides, whether Iran or other countries, and enhance the role of all parties in assuming their national responsibilities regarding the duality of rights and duties for each citizen. Regarding the identification of a terrorist organisation which was planning to subvert national security and the high-grade explosives and arms seized, the governor called on scholars from the two sects, intellectuals and opinion leaders to exert greater efforts to fortify society member. Particularly youth, against terrorism and from being attracted by extremist organisations which, he said, are trying to hold training camps for youngsters to train them on using weapons, making explosives for the sake of undermining the security and stability of their home countries. The governor expressed deep regret over the tendency of a number of religious and media platforms across the Arab and Islamic worlds to brain-wash youngsters and encourage them to join armed extremist and takifiri (accusing other Muslims of not being true believers) organisations, and engage in achieving destructive goals set by foreign powers. He affirmed that the issue was stressed more than once by the Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa during his meetings with citizens and officials, calling upon national parties to create a bulwark that fortifies the country and prevents extremist groups from reaching Bahraini youth and exploiting them, praising the efforts of the Interior Minister and the security authorities for discovering extremist cells and exposing their agendas.
